Enjoy a leisurely walk through Slapton village – it is so charming and quaint and on the way to the beach – down Sands Road. There are two lovely local pubs in walking distance and a community shop, where you can pick up your daily newspaper, fresh bread and groceries.
Take a right out of Carlane Court and walk down to Prospect Hill. Turn left… up Prospect Hill and after approx. 30 metres.
The Community Area is signposted on your left. Look carefully… as it is easy to miss.
Climb over the stile and continue walking UP the rolling green meadow to the top. It’s not very far…
Pack a picnic… at the top is a picnic table with the most incredible views – you will see Carlane Court and onwards to the sea.

Slapton Sands

The shop is run by friendly local volunteers, supporting the local community. You can pick up your daily newspaper and groceries here.

Local Pubs
There are two country pubs in the village, The Queens Arms and The Tower Inn. Both are lovely and offer different menu choices.
You know it is a great pub when you meet locals who want to be there. With two outside gardens and lovely views, you can stop off on the way to the beach or on your way back – an easy walk home! AND they offer takeaway fish and chips – but please book in advance. It is a busy pub and everything is cooked from fresh.
